Building a Better World Together: Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

Our Area of Responsibility:Education, Orphanage, Sports, Environment

Unearthing Social's Treasures

The INDEX Group has proposed a clearer definition of CSR in its new communication views, stating that it is “the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society and outlines what an Enterprise should do to meet that responsibility.” An enterprise’s primary goal is to add value by creating the goods and services that the public wants and needs. By doing this, it makes money for its owners and shareholders and contributes to the welfare of the community at large, especially via the creation of jobs on a continuous basis.

Although there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution and the CSR process remains informal for the majority of Index Group’s small and medium-sized operations, complying with legislation and collective agreements negotiated between social partners is the basic requirement for INDEX group to meet its social responsibility. Furthermore, INDEX Group has implemented a method to incorporate social, environmental, ethical human rights, and consumer issues into their company operations and core strategy in close collaboration with their stakeholders. The viewpoint’s goal is as follows:

  • To maximize the creation of shared value, which means to create returns on investment for the company’s shareholders at the same time as ensuring benefits for the company’s other stakeholders;
  • To identify, prevent and mitigate possible adverse impacts which INDEX Group may have on Society afterwards Important features of the new definition
  • Recognition of the importance of core business strategy. This is consistent with the approach taken by INDEX Group for which social responsibility and sustainability have become an integral part of its Business model
  • Development of the concept of “creating shared value”. This refers to the way in which enterprises seek to generate a return on investment for their owners and shareholders by means of creating value for other stakeholders and society at large. This links CSR strongly to innovation, especially in terms of developing new products and services that are commercially successful and help to address societal challenges
  • Explicit recognition of Human rights and ethical considerations in addition to social, environmental and consumer considerations

INDEX Framework Infrastructure Development

The INDEX Group assessed that educated people are very lucrative for the nation since they give more to welfare systems than they receive in return. In actuality, the more educated a population is, the more they consume, earn, and pay in taxes, including social security, and the less they require public expenditure for things like raising their children and funding pension plans, etc. Besides, the group concluded that higher education attainment also leads to better health conditions and longer lives, higher levels of societal engagement and democratic participation and lower criminal activity. The INDEX Group has been a major funder of lifelong learning in its last few programming periods; that is focusing on young people, low skilled and older workers who has been employed after having benefited from the Fund. For the educational development, around 142 educational institutions so far have been given financial donations from the group for their infrastructure development.

Sports

It is strongly believed by the group that, sport and physical education is fundamental to the early development of youth and the skills learned during physical education and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people. Through participation in sport and physical education, young people learn about the importance of key values such as:

  • Honesty & Dedication
  • Leadership &Teamwork
  • Fair Competitiveness
  • Adherence to Rules

It also provides a forum for young people to learn how to deal with competition and how to cope with both winning and losing situations. These learning aspects highlight the impact of physical education and sport on a youth’s social and moral development in addition to physical skills and abilities. In addition to physical benefits, physical education and sport also have strong influences on inclusion and community building, character-building and delinquency and community safety.
